Really? All these processes EVERY morning? What time do you get UP?? (or have to be at work, I suppose) Who knew I was so lacking in the variety of products – for example, I only use one moisturizer for my face (Oil of Olay, with a sunscreen) and one for my body (Neutrogena – it’s not stinky-perfumey, and I’m sensitive to that stuff).
I am horrified at the “never wash my hair” thing that someone mentioned, though! UGH! *shudder*

Hey Mary Ann I don’t know you but I’m the f*ing ex who did not know how to do a proper Barbara shower. You wouldn’t either. I could own a yacht with the money spent on bath products and homes that needed two to three bathrooms to hold the products. (I just got a bath brush out of the deal and she’s still my dear friend). There were little boys involved who had to line up for various lotion applications and hair torture. None of us escaped and no one was embarrassed by our lack of knowledge or hygiene according to B’s standards. I do, however, continue to shower in precisely the manner in which I was taught and if you saw my picture, ehem, you would note that at age 50 my skin makes me look 30. So laugh all you want at my expense, the lesson served me well and I still use that expensive, excellent exfoliating wonder of a bath brush. Sorry Femme Fairy Godmother.

Suggestion: I moisturize in the shower. After all is said and done, while I’m still damp (pre-towel) I use Neutrogena Rainbath Light Sesame Oil. Nice alternative to body lotion. (Note: Wash hands after, and before putting on face lotion.)

Wow, this is actually EXACTLY the routine I follow without fail when I shower. I mean, it just all makes such perfect, wonderful sense. You know I actually had a friend for YEARS that one day told me in conversation that she didn’t wash her hair. I mean EVER. She had very thick hair that was also very long and curly so she just decided to stop washing it and only conditioned it and found that kept it managable. I’m sure I don’t need to point out my reaction or any further flaws in this plan because hopefully your jaw is slack and you can barely read at this point you’re so horrorstruck. I could never look at her again the same way. Lesson – assume nothing. Housekeeping skills, personal hygeine…to quote a cliche, common sense is not common. If it matters to you, ask first.

Maybe if you hadn’t gone though this with your ex you’d still have your “really good, wildly expensive bath brush”
