I have, almost without noticing, acquired a girlfriend.

Yes, you read that correctly. I have a girlfriend.

To be honest with you, I’m not sure how it happened. I started hanging out with someone a while ago but I certainly didn’t expect to end up with a girlfriend. In fact, I told more than one person that there was simply No. Way. I was going to end up in any sort of relationship with this woman, other than friends. We’re friends, for sure. And, now, it seems girlfriends.

You are probably going to be shocked to find out that I am also not going to be telling you a great deal about her. I may tell you when I’ve seen her, some of the things we’ve done and all that, but maybe not. There are a number of reasons for this and among them is that she is more private than I am. Perhaps someday, but not right now.

What I will tell you is this:

She’s amazing. She is exactly what I need right now. She doesn’t live in the same city as I do, so we will only see each other about twice a month. That’s perfect for me. I get to have all the fun and romance of a new relationship without all the complications of daily living.

My girl is funny and smart, she’s a total smartass (which, as you all know, I completely dig) and she’s dead sexy. Also? Such. A. Good. Kisser. That’s crucial for me – I canNOT be with someone who doesn’t kiss well.

She is probably the exact opposite of who you’d expect me to date, in some ways. After all that carrying on about how I like tall women – she’s shorter than me. Four inches shorter than me. She is Alpha enough that I never notice that she’s shorter. *grin* She also tends to prefer me in workout clothes or jeans rather than Full Femme Mode. Which is a good thing since Full Femme doesn’t come as naturally to me these days as it once did. I’m less uber-high-femme now and more … well, what? Garden variety femme, I guess.

This will give you a good idea of her personality:

When we were trying to figure out what to call her here in FairyLand, we tried out and discarded various things. I asked her what I call her besides her name. Her immediate answer? “Sweetheart and heathen.” So there you are – she’s Sweetheart Heathen, possibly SHH when I’m feeling lazy.

Welcome to Fairyland, Sweetheart Heathen. I’m glad you’re in my world.
