You all had to know that it was only a matter of time before my BFF’s love was on the Swoon List! Scin calls Androgynonamous her “partner, amazing lover, and future husbitch.”

When I asked Scin why Androgynonamous should be on the Swoon List, she said, She is one of the most intelligent people on the planet. She has this amazing vocabulary that runs throughout a soft southern drawl. She is an artist, a musician (she plays guitar, among other things), has worked in theatre for many years (mostly in set design and lighting), a lifelong learner, and very spiritual seeker of many truths.

Androgynonamous is kind, gentle, caring, and generous beyond measure. She also has some really hot ink, loves her truck, and craves an Indian motorcycle. She can discuss anything from last week’s episode of The Fringe to current trends in Quantum Physics. She has a photographic memory and remembers every word she reads and she reads a lot…more than I could ever tackle (and that’s saying something!)

Aside from being an exquisite lover who isn’t afraid to try new things, she’s a hopeless romantic. She not only still writes real letters on beautiful paper with torn edges that she sends via snail mail, she wrote me the most exquisite poem about building a cairn of our love. For Christmas, she brought me a glass jar filled with stones and gems she has picked up in her travels. She explained each and every one to me, the meaning behind them, our cairn. THAT is swoon-worthy.

Androgynonamous was an obvious choice for the Butch Swoon List because she knows how to treat a woman. Scin feels cherished, valued, loved and respected. The ability to make your woman feel that is soooo swoon-inducing! I can’t comment on any physical attributes (because hello? It would be like saying my brother in law is hot. Weird) but she does have the most lovely Southern accent, a wicked sense of humor and intelligence that is evident in everything she says or writes. I love a butch who can use language creatively. But y’all knew that already, right?
