About the FFG

The Femme Fairy Godmother is the alterego of a Michigan femme who loves to give (mostly unsolicited) advice to everyone regardless of sexual orientation. Also, the FFG has an overwhelming urge to mother everyone. And by mother I mean tell you how to live your life.

Aside from that … as I was researching my Butch Swoon List #6 post, I found this post on Sugarbutch.net.

It made me think: Who am I to give anyone advice about anything? I came out a while ago. I’ve had a lot of experiences along the way and sometimes I wished there was a handbook of how to correctly be gay. It took me years to find out that there is no one way to be a lesbian but that there were a number of things that it might have been helpful to know.

If something I write doesn’t fit for you, please don’t think that you MUST do things my way. You are you, I am me. Do what’s best for you, pumpkin. If you think I’m dead wrong about something, leave me a comment and tell me so. It’s entirely possible that I am wrong and that you know something that I don’t.

My hope is that some of what I write is useful for you, that some is entertaining and that some makes you think. Above all things, though, think for yourself. Ask questions. Come to your own conclusion. And leave your thoughts and ideas in the comments or on formspring. I want to hear from YOU.
